Welcome to the Transplantation Learning Zone, an online resource intended to educate healthcare professionals in best practice for the transplantation of various organs.

This Learning Zone covers the indications for transplantation, discussing the most common conditions resulting in organ failure; epidemiology, providing global statistics for organ donation and transplantation, the burden of disease and complication rates; the surgical techniques used, supported by current guideline recommendations; the various methods for immunosuppression, such as calcineurin inhibitors, induction therapy and anti-metabolites; long-term outcomes, discussing the causes of mortality and exploring the options for improvement; and finally, future developments, evaluating the use of regenerative medicine and organs grown ex vivo.

In addition, slide and video presentations are available from the 18th Congress of the European Society for Organ Transplantation (ESOT) in 2019 and the 27th meeting of The Transplantation Society (TTS) in 2018. These resources discuss the latest clinical research data for kidney and liver transplantation.
